A car crashes into a crowd near London, child dies

Police consider the hitting intentional. One of the victims said that before the collision, the driver picked up speed and drove onto the sidewalk.


In a suburb of London, a car crashed into a group of people near a school. A 12-year-old boy was killed, another five people were injured, reports the Air Force on Tuesday.

Among the victims there are two 15-year-olds, a 13-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and a woman of 53 years. Emergency services report that there is no threat to their life.

One of the victims says that the driver picked up speed and drove on the sidewalk on purpose. Law enforcement officials also stated that they consider the hitting intentional. It is emphasized that the driver did not stop crashing into people.

Police released a silver Ford KA orientation. Soon, the cops detained a 51-year-old man who is suspected of murder and attempted murder.

The deceased boy, like the other injured adolescents, was a student at the school on Willingale Road, near which there was a collision.

One of the victims, 15-year-old Alfie Barnes, said that he and his friends were walking along the sidewalk when they were hit by a car. According to him, he heard behind him the sound of a revving engine, after which the car drove onto the sidewalk and crashed into a group. He believes that the driver specifically ran into them.

A detective from the Kent and Essex Police Serious Crimes Department, Rob Kirby, called the incident shocking and turned to drivers who might be nearby, asking them for recordings from car cameras.

On November 29, 28-year-old Usman Khan attacked passers-by in central London. Two people died from knife wounds. Police officers shot an attacker while trying to resist. Usman Khan, 28, lived in the Staffordshire area. In 2012, Khan was already convicted of terrorism and imprisoned for eight years. In December 2018, he was released, but the police continued to monitor him.
