The USA intervenes in Lebanese protests

Hezbollah, a Lebanese political party standing for creating an Islamic state in Lebanon along the lines of Iran, has accused the United States of meddling in the formation of a new Lebanese government.

Anti-government protests against corruption broke out on October 17.

“The first obstacle to the formation of a new government is America, imposing a regime that is beneficial to it. And we want a government close to the Lebanese people”, – said Hezbollah’s deputy leader Kassem. According to him, the crisis will continue until the foreign parties stop trying to achieve their goals.

Moreover, according to his testimony, the US officials were in direct contact with Lebanese politicians and officials.

“Let them leave us alone so that we can reach mutual understanding. The more they intervene, the more they delay the decision”, – he states.

The United States said it supports protestered who demand reform and an end to corruption, and that they were ready to work with a new government that can build a stable, prosperous, and independent Lebanon.
