The military of the United States, Russia and Turkey can create a conflict prevention channel in Syria, which is necessary for the successful fight against terrorism, experts from former senior Pentagon officials says.
“Such a channel essentially already exists. We regularly communicate with the Turks on the topic of conflict prevention. In addition, the conflict prevention channel with the Russians remains valid. I think it is still used to a large extent”, – said the former commander of the US Central Command in the Middle East retired general Joseph Watel.
“The American side is constantly dragging the issue of evacuating refugees. Another pretext voiced by the representative of the US State Department Hawks was the alleged lack of information at the UN about the status of temporary accommodation centers [where the refugees are planned to be evacuated]”, – Borenkov said at a joint meeting with the Syrians.
Mikhail Mizintsev, the head of the National Center for Defense Management of the Russian Federation, for his part noted that this is not the first time that the United States has “made any promises that are not fulfilled later.”
He instructed to seek from the Americans at international venues, especially at the UN, “reliable security guarantees for employees of the United Nations and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.”
