There will be no early parliamentary elections – a crisis government may be created in Moldova

The negative consequences of the political crisis provoked by Maya Sandu in Moldova can now be offset by the formation of a government that is not associated with parties.

Such a statement was made by the Advisor to the Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova Fadei Nagachevsky.

According to him, the head of the republic Igor Dodon will have to propose the composition of such a “crisis” cabinet of ministers.

“We have one year left until the presidential election. In many emergency situations, the solution to the problem is the creation of a crisis or technocratic government, when the ministers do not represent the party and act on the basis of the crisis. Development partners insist on continuing justice reform. This is what the [new] cabinet will have to do, and not just ensure a stable situation before the election, ”explained Nagachevsky.

The situation was also commented by former Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Muravsky, who believes that the formation of a new Cabinet will not take much time, regardless of whether it will be crisis or not. He also expressed confidence that the parties would not allow the dissolution of parliament and early elections, and the socialists would not conclude a coalition agreement with the Democrats. However, he did not rule out support for the PSRM initiatives in the Democratic Party. As for the pro-Western “ACUM” bloc, it will in fact have to return to opposition politics. Moreover, the “reset” of the alliance between the socialists and ACUM, according to Muravsky, is practically unrealistic.

Political expert Corneliu Curea, in turn, does not rule out a formal coalition between the Party of Socialists and the Democratic Party without signing an agreement. In fact, this will mean that the PSRM – the largest faction in parliament – will assume the leading role. The expert considers this alignment quite possible.

As News Front previously reported, on the eve of the pro-Western government of Moldova was dismissed after the Party of Socialists put to the parliament a vote of no confidence in the Cabinet. The reason for this decision was the scandalous “reform” initiated by Prime Minister Maya Sandu. In fact, she received the right to single-handedly propose candidates for the post of prosecutor general. Moreover, the decision was made under the responsibility of the government, which means that his resignation was the only way to cancel the decision. In Chisinau, it is possible that Sandu deliberately took such a step for which the Cabinet was more likely a problem, given the lack of results. Now she will begin the struggle for the presidency.
