Bolivian Defense Minister Javier Savaleta announced his resignation, according to a signed statement and a video message from the minister, published on the agency’s Twitter page.
“Today, November 11, 2019, I am resigning from the post of Minister of Defense, thereby making it clear to Bolivia and the whole world that our will, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces (Evo Morales – ed.) and (mine – ed.) Has always been in preserving the statehood of our armed forces in the service of the people, and we never gave orders to our soldiers and sailors to use weapons against our people, and we will never give them back”, – the minister said in a video message.
