About four thousand troops and one thousand pieces of equipment from 11 NATO member countries will participate in the international exercises.
On Monday, November 4, the Iron Wolf 2019-II international exercises started in Lithuania, in which about four thousand military personnel from 11 NATO countries will take part, in particular, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Estonia, the USA, Poland, Norway, the Netherlands, and Portugal , Germany, the press service of the Armed Forces of Lithuania reports.
“The Iron Wolf 2019-II international exercises will begin on November 4 and will involve about 4,000 troops from 11 NATO countries. The exercises will be held at the training ground of General Sylvester Zhukauskas in Pabrade, where about 1,000 military-technical units will be present”, – stated in the message.
It is noted that the name of the maneuvers coincides with the name of the rifle brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Lithuania Iron Wolf. During the exercises, interaction will be worked out in planning and conducting offensive and defensive operations. About 1,000 units of military equipment will be involved – tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored vehicles, artillery pieces.
The main phase of the Iron Wolf 2019-II maneuvers will last until November 18, and the return of equipment to permanent deployment sites is scheduled for November 18-22.
