Kurds leave military base and checkpoint in northern Raqqi

Kurdish armed detachments left their military base with a training camp and an Asaish police checkpoint in the north of Raqqa province on the outskirts of Ain Issa.

The base abandoned by Kurdish self-defense forces is located near the M4 highway, west of the abandoned refugee camp in Ain Issa. Some buildings at the base are destroyed by air strikes.

In the surviving buildings are rooms for accommodating personnel, equipped with air conditioning and household appliances. Flags of the Kurdish YPG and PYD units hang on the walls, and a firing range is separately equipped. The abandoned checkpoint of the Kurdish police Asaish is located on the highway itself at a turn in Tel Abyad.

Earlier, the head of the Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties, Major General Sergey Romanenko, said that the Russian military police are helping with the withdrawal of Kurdish self-defense units and their weapons 30 kilometers from the Syrian-Turkish border.
