For half an hour, Ukrainian security forces fired mortar at the village of Zaitsevo on the outskirts of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic of Gorlovka, under fire there is a school and a summer residence, the acting Head of the city administration Ivan Prikhodko said on Sunday.
“Already within half an hour there has been shelling of the village of Zaitsevo (outskirts of Gorlovka – ed.). The school and summer cottage area are under fire. Mortars of 82 and 120 millimeters are used, as well as AGS”, – Prikhodko wrote in his Telegram channel.
Gorlovka controlled by the DPR is located at the contact line, 40 kilometers north of Donetsk, and is regularly bombarded. Before the conflict, about 250 thousand people lived in the city. In Gorlovka, there is a machine-building plant and a chemical plant “Styrol”, which stopped work with the outbreak of hostilities in the Donbass.
