Participants of the Veche against the “Steinmeier formula” came to Zelensky’s office

The participants of the Veche against the “Steinmeier formula” in the Donbass came to the office of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev.

On Sunday, about 10 thousand opponents of the “Steinmeier formula” gathered in the main square of Kiev Independence Square (Independence Square). The organizers note that this veche is “helpful”.

After the official end of the veche, the protesters lit fires and headed to Zelensky’s office in a column. There, they demand that the president “does not cross the red lines” during the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass.

The contact group on Ukraine on Tuesday agreed on the “Steinmeier formula” (German president, former OSCE chairman, ex-Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier), according to which the law on a special procedure for local self-government in certain areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions comes into force on a temporary basis on election day and on an ongoing basis – after the publication of the OSCE report on the election results. After that, protest rallies swept across Ukraine against such an option for resolving the conflict in the east of the country, and the “Surrender of Resistance Movement” was created. Its representatives called on everyone to go out for an evening in Kiev and other cities on Sunday. President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that he respects the right of citizens to protest, and urged Ukrainians not to succumb to provocations.
