US starts antimonopoly investigation on Facebook

New York Attorney General Letizia James said she will lead an antimonopoly investigation into Facebook. This was reported on September 6 by Reuters.

The purpose of the investigation is to identify cases of violation of Facebook competition rules in connection with the dominance of the company in the services market. It will be conducted by a team of attorney generals from the states of Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio and the District of Columbia under the leadership of Letizia James.

“Even the largest social network in the world must obey the law and respect consumers,” – the New York attorney general said.
