Saakashvili sends hand-nationalists to seize Georgian parliament

The United National Unity party, led by a fugitive ex-president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, staged an action against the walls of the country’s legislative body, which was also joined by members of the movement, called Shameful.

It is noteworthy that young radicals from the youth wing of the political formation from the “Nationality” led by Saakashvili are taking part. They are trying to storm the parliament building. At the same time, one of the curators of the protests, Anna Charkhalashvili, claims that the radicals are trying to break into the building to talk with deputies and ask questions to candidates for ministerial posts. Due to the fact that the situation is heating up, law enforcement forces are mobilized at the parliament building.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Georgia from the ruling party, Giorgi Gakharia, sharply criticized Saakashvili’s party, called it “ordinary street opposition” and promised to do away with it.

It is worth noting that Georgian law enforcement officers fought the June riots in Tbilisi under the leadership of Gazaria, after which the opposition demanded his resignation.
