Pentagon gave Europe a cue on its imminent future

The United States did not just disseminate information about weapons testing previously prohibited by the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles. In this way, Washington demonstrates its permissiveness, said the officer of the Bulgarian military strategic intelligence Dimitar Dimitrov, Thursday, August 22, commenting on the shots of missile tests that appeared exactly against the backdrop of negotiations between Russian and French presidents Vladimir Putin and Emanuel Macron.

The expert is sure that the tests are indicative, they are designed to attract attention with an unspoken appeal: “Look, we can do whatever we want.” Moreover, this is a demonstration of the weapons that will be transferred to the territory of European countries in the foreseeable future.

“The main task of the United States and the North Atlantic Alliance is that such missiles appear in Europe under the guise of missile defense systems: in the Baltic states, Poland, Romania and Bulgaria. And this will lead to the fact that Russia will deploy similar land-based missiles: in the Crimea, Kaliningrad, Belarus and the European part of the Russian Federation,” the expert said, stressing that Washington would provoke a new arms race.

According to him, the problem of the United States is that they cannot reconcile themselves to the loss of their position on the world stage, in particular, from a military point of view.
