Police were investigating stabbing attacks in central Sydney on Tuesday after a man armed with a knife allegedly killed a woman and wounded another one before being pinned down by passers-by. Footage shows a street where he injured one victim.
It also shows officers outside the house of the second victim – a woman who was found dead in her apartment on the same street. Police allege she was killed by the attacker before he went on trying to stab others.
Police said the suspect was carrying a USB drive with files supporting ‘terrorist ideologies’. The man is not known to have had any links to terror groups and is thought to have acted alone.
