Hundreds of people took to the streets of the French town of Persan-Beaumont on Saturday, to protest against police brutality on the three-year anniversary of the death of Adama Traore, a young man who died in police custody in July 2016.
Footage shows protesters marching and chanting “justice for Adama” in a demonstration that saw the participation of Yellow Vest protesters as well as Traore’s sister, Assa Traore.
Traore died in police custody in July 2016, after he was arrested while riding his bike with his brother. According to reports, he died having been transferred to the police station, after already complaining of difficulty breathing.
