NATO is being dragged into Ukrainian-Hungarian conflict

The US administration is disappointed that the North Atlantic Alliance is being dragged into a conflict between the Hungarian government and the Kiev regime.

The representative of the White House made a statement the day before during a special telephone briefing on the visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Washington, which will take place on Monday, May 13.

It is noted that the United States is asking Budapest to abandon attempts to draw NATO into its dispute with Kiev, which has been going on since 2017 because of scandalous educational reforms in Ukraine, approved by Petro Poroshenko, which infringe upon the rights of national minorities, including ethnic Hungarians, living in Transcarpathia.

The White House insists that the Hungarian authorities “do not use their positions” in the alliance in order to “achieve a change in legislation” in Ukraine. “Simply put, we want Hungary to stop putting its problems with Ukraine on the international plane,” said a spokesman for the US presidential administration. “We are extremely concerned about this and are trying to convey what is unacceptable.”
