‘Like a 3rd world country!’ Trump attacks Democrat ‘coup’ in 1st post-Mueller interview

Trump unloaded on Democrats, accusing them of an “attempted coup” in his first interview since the release of the Mueller report. Rehashing his usual rhetoric, Trump called the ‘Russiagate’ flop “bigger than Watergate.”
On a victory lap since his election campaign was cleared of collusion with Moscow, Trump relied on a few tried and trusted tropes as he bashed the “13 angry Democrats” and “dirty cops” from the FBI for sparking the Russia investigation in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

The greatest scandal in the history of our country. Bigger than Watergate, because it means so much. This wasn’t stealing information from an office in the Watergate apartments. This was an attempted coup. It’s inconceivable. Like a third world country.
Trump lashed out at former rival Hillary Clinton for “destroying the lives” of his staffers, and blasted the FBI for going light on her during her private server investigation.

Trump has frequently employed the same rhetoric when taking swipes at the Mueller probe. After the summary of the 400-page report was released in early April, Trump urged an investigation into “an attempted take-down of a president.”

He has also compared the US to a “third-world country” before, telling a rally last year that only in a third-world country would the opposition would try to impeach the president “before you even found out whether or not he or she is going to do a great job.”

While the Mueller report did not find any collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, leaving a question mark over the obstruction issue, some of the most fervent Trump opponents in the Democrat camp insist on launching impeachment proceedings. The claims that the Kremlin has compromising material on Trump, which are likewise unsupported, are also not going away and have resurfaced in the media.
