German media accuse ECHR of covering Ukraine guilt in MH17 case

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has still not decided on the suit of the relatives of those killed in the crash of Boeing MH17, of which Ukraine is accused of criminal negligence, according to the German magazine Telepolis.

According to the assessment of the German journalist, the ECtHR acted “very strange”, classifying the lawsuit and denying access to the production to the public, prosecutors and their lawyers.

At the same time, as the author notes, the addition to the lawsuit from 2015, which contained case-law cases and new evidence from the Netherlands Security Council, did not affect the situation. The court continued to remain silent, without informing who demanded to classify the case.

The journalist emphasizes that Kiev is responsible for the collapse of the MH17, at least because it did not close the airspace over the east of Ukraine. This decision Ukraine took “because of the fear of losing revenue from transit, amounting to about $ 200 million a year.”

The Ukrainian side was able to evade responsibility – they did not launch an investigation against it. In the end, all the blame was laid on Russia, since the West supports Kiev’s actions in the east of the country.

The collapse of the passenger plane Boeing 777 of Malaysia Airlines, flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, occurred on July 17, 2014 in eastern Ukraine. 283 passengers and 15 crew members died – citizens of 10 states. The main version of the disaster was the hit of the earth-to-air missile. The authorities of Ukraine and representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) blamed each other for what had happened. In Australia and the Netherlands, they blamed Russia for the downed airliner and demanded compensation for the families of those killed in the crash.
