At least four people were killed and more than 13 wounded when a car bomb exploded in the Somali capital Mogadishu, officials said — the second such attack on Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported, quoting a police officer.
“An UVBIED (vehicle-borne improvised explosive device) Harrier vehicle parked at Dabka Junction went off, so far we can confirm four dead and five 5 wounded. We offer our condolences to the victims,” wrote Police Deputy Commissioner Zakia Hussein Ahmed on Twitter.
Thirteen wounded were taken to the hospital for treatment, said the local Aamin Ambulance Service.
Dabka Junction, where the attack took place, is one of the busiest in the capital, located on Maka al-Mukarama Street near the Somali parliament building and some 100 steps from the Waberi district police station.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the deadly car bomb blast.
