A Georgia meteorologist says she received death threats for interrupting coverage of The Masters to issue a tornado warning.
CBS46’s Ella Dorsey came on the air Sunday in the last hour of the golf tournament, as Tiger Woods was about to make his remarkable comeback and earn his first major championship in over a decade.
The channel managed to show the competition in a split screen with the warning about the violent storms tearing across the south, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
But that wasn’t good enough for some golf freaks, who came after Dorsey.
“To everyone sending me death threats right now: you wouldn’t be saying a damn thing if a tornado was ravaging your home this afternoon,” Dorsey tweeted.
“Lives are more important than 5 minutes of golf.”
The strong storms have unleashed tornadoes and floodwaters that killed at least eight people, including three children.
