Japanese Defense Minister Takeshi Iwaya called on US military command to ensure discipline among US troops stationed in the country’s southernmost prefecture of Okinawa after an apparent murder of a local woman by a marine, the NHK broadcaster reported on Tuesday.
The minister also said that the probe into the incident was still ongoing and sent condolences to the victim’s family.
