State of Palestine: Political groups comment on ‘Great March of Return’ gathering

Thousands of Palestinians demonstrated at the Israel-Gaza border on Saturday, to mark the first anniversary of the ‘Great March of Return’ and to commemorate ‘Land Day.’

Footage shows large numbers of protesters gathering near the border with Palestinian flags.

“Today, the message is clear for all,” said Abu Mujahid, a spokesperson for the al-Nasser Salah al-Deen Brigades. “We will not let the occupation continue committing crimes by shedding the blood of our people while we stay silent.”

The Great March of Return started on March 30, 2018. It consists of a series of protests along the Israeli-Palestinian border to demand the right for Palestinians to return to their families’ pre-1948 homes.
