Leaders taking part in the Arab League Summit in Tunisia have agreed to release a “strong statement” rejecting the decision of US President Donald Trump to recognise Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, Arab League Summit spokesperson Mahmoud Al-Khobairi said at a press conference in Tunis on Friday. “The summit will release a strong statement rejecting this decision,” said Al-Khobairi ahead of the leaders’ summit on Sunday, March 31. While the question of Syria’s return to the Arab League will reportedly be left out of the Summit’s agenda, Al-Khobairi addressed the issue saying, “there is no unanimous agreement for Syria’s return [to the Arab League].”
