Trump ‘May Close Southern Border’, Slams Mexico Over Illegal Immigration

The US Defence Department said earlier in March, it identified $12.8 billion in possible funding that could be used to fulfil Trump’s call to construct a border wall.

“Mexico is doing NOTHING to help stop the flow of illegal immigrants to our Country. They are all talk and no action. Likewise, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador have taken our money for years, and do Nothing. The Dems don’t care, such BAD laws. May close the Southern Border”! Trump said.

The border is reportedly in an “operational crisis” as the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are running out of detention facilities, while refugees simply walk across the border by the hundreds.

Trying to stop the influx of migrants, Trump proclaimed a national emergency last month to free up to $8 billion in federal funding to construct a wall on the US southern border. The president has stressed the wall is needed to prevent criminals and terrorists from pouring into the United States. The Congress, in turn, has opposed the decision, even trying to override US President Donald Trump’s veto of legislation aimed at terminating his declaration of national emergency, which passed with bipartisan support in both the Senate and House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, thousands of asylum seekers have walked to the US-Mexican border over the last year and early 2019, prompting the US authorities to deploy troops to the southern frontier. The latest caravan of some 1,200 people set off toward the United States in March.
