According to The Sun, if the UK prime minister’s deal is not ratified by mid-March, a new bill will force the delay of Brexit, possibly by many months.
According to the UK-based media outlet, senior Tory and Labour lawmakers allied to set a new, legally-binding deadline of mid-March for any EU agreement to be ratified.
Apart from a permanent customs union, Labour urged for close alignment with the EU single market, dynamic alignment on workers’ rights, commitment on participation in EU agencies and funding for education, environment and industry, as well as agreement on security cooperation that would include sharing databases.
The United Kingdom is set to leave the European Union on 29 March, but so far May has been unable to secure support for the exit terms in Parliament, where the majority oppose a provision on the controversial Irish border backstop.
