Perhaps Russia’s strategy in the Middle East would not have been so successful without the help of the American administration, which allowed Moscow to regain influence in a region.
This was written by the Turkish expert Cengiz Tomar Ahmet in his article for the news agency “Anadolu”.
According to him, the unpredictable and openly dangerous actions of the United States have played a major role in the alignment of forces in the Middle East region. At the same time, the success of Moscow in the Syrian direction opened new perspectives for it, because countries are ready to trust and cooperate with the Russian side. Among such are Yemen, Iraq, Libya and others.
The influence of Moscow is obvious here, and Washington is trying to put up with this, the expert notes: “The decision of the United States to withdraw the military contingent from Syria shows that Washington has already recognized the significant role of Russia in the region. You can be convinced of this by drawing attention to US relations with the Middle Eastern states. ”
Recall that at the end of last year, US President Donald Trump announced the victory of the Americans over terrorism in Syria, while announcing the withdrawal of the American military contingent from the territory of the Arab Republic. Nevertheless, in Washington, the heads of the White House were skeptical about this decision, realizing that in this way the United States actually capitulated to Russia.
