The US is increasingly trying to integrate the Balkans and, in particular, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) into NATO . To this end, a brainwashing campaign has been launched here for the leadership of the countries of the region, which includes diplomats from Washington and Brussels , and numerous high-ranking visitors from Western capitals.
At the same time, the main obstacle to the realization of Euro-Atlantic aspirations in BiH is the position of the leadership of the Republika Srpska, who openly declares that in conditions of growing international confrontation, it is essential to maintain military neutrality in order not to become a puppet of global players trying to wage wars with proxy.
So, on the eve of the representative of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegovic, a member of the highest collective governing body of BiH – presidium Shefik Dzhaferovic made a provocative statement that it is necessary to change the name of the Republika Srpska, as it discriminates other peoples living in this Bosnian Entity.
“The SDA will decide who initiates the legal procedure, but it will definitely follow. BiH is a multinational state and it’s not normal that one part of BiH reflects in its name only one of the peoples’s affiliation,” Boshnyak said and added that The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be in the near future.
Naturally, the position of Dzhaferovic provoked a tough response in the Republika Srpska and the region, where the actions of the politician qualified as a definite desire to incite ethnic hatred and another conflict in the Balkans. In turn, the chairman of the presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, scheduled consultations with representatives of all political forces of the RS on Thursday.
“I think it’s very important that the Republika Srpska once again demonstrate consensus on this issue. We will convene a meeting of the People’s Assembly if the appeal to the Constitutional Court is initiated.
Meanwhile, political analyst Dragomir Andhelkovich believes that the situation is very serious, and the Boshniks themselves push RS off of the BiH.
“The time has come when the Republika Srpska should appeal to world leaders – Donald Trump , Vladimir Putin , Xi Jinping and European leaders, warning them that the Bosniacs are directing BiH towards chaos and unhappiness,” the agency Srna quotes the words of the expert.
According to experts, any attempt to revise the name of the Republika Srpska is, in fact, a desire to change the Dayton Peace Accords. At the same time, it is important to bear in mind that as a result of an acute inter-ethnic conflict in 1992-1995, more than 100 thousand people died in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the number of refugees exceeded 2.2 million, which put him on a par with the largest humanitarian disasters in Europe since the Second World War.
