Trump’s visit to Iraq: White House’s chief managed to scatter the “wasp’s nest”

American President Donald Trump is unlikely to risk visiting Syria in the near future, even though, in his opinion, it was the Americans who “defeated terrorism”. But he decided to descend into Iraq, although without an invitation, which caused an uproar in the government of the country.

As reported on Thursday, December 27, the unexpected visit of the US president was regarded as an invasion that openly reversed state sovereignty.

In particular, the leaders of the Shiite formations, as well as parliamentarians of the Middle Eastern country, are talking about this. The chairman of the parliamentary Islam bloc, Sabah al-Saadi, even demanded an emergency meeting of the Council of Representatives, at which he intends to raise the issue of the country’s “outrageous disregard for sovereignty”.

“The occupation of Iraq by the United States has ended,” he said, adding that it is necessary “to stop the aggression on the part of Trump, who should know the limits.”

“This visit openly and blatantly violates all diplomatic norms, showing how he [Trump] does not care about the Iraqi government,” the communiqué of the Bina parliamentary bloc says.

It is worth noting that Trump also hoped to hold a meeting with the country’s Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi, however, according to sources, the parties could not agree on the venue of the meeting, as the American president wanted Mahdi to come to the US military base “Ain al-Assad “in the province of Anbar.
