Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution on the celebration of anniversaries in 2019. Now the birthday of the nationalist Bandera is a reason for celebration.
January 1 will now be a Ukrainian official holiday. The 110th anniversary of the birth of the nationalist will be celebrated on January 1, 2019.
Most of all the new holidays rejoices Lviv region. One day a year to honor such a “great” figure there seemed to be a little. In the region, 2019 declared the year of Bandera and the OUN-UPA.
In addition to Bandera, Ukraine will now celebrate the birthdays of other Ukrainian figures. The birthday of Simon Petliura will also become an official holiday.
The Ministry of Education of Ukraine will provide educational lessons on the “outstanding” personalities of Ukrainian history. After all, children from childhood should know their “heroes”.
