Footage filmed in the western French town of Angers on Friday shows a security zone set up around a petrol station, after an alleged fuel protester reportedly threatened to detonate a grenade.
According to reports, the man was wearing a fluorescent yellow vest similar to those worn by protesters partaking in France’s latest anti-fuel tax movement, the so-called ‘gilets jaunes’.
He reportedly waved a grenade, claiming to have more explosives, and demanded to see French President Emmanuel Macron.
Anti-terror police arrived to the scene and arrested the perpetrator.
