On October 17, six people died during clashes between protesters and police in Port-au-Prince while Haitian President Jovenel Moise was commemorating the 212th anniversary of the assassination of Emperor Jean-Jacques Dessalines.
The October 17 protest had been organised across the country and coordinated by different organisations against the misuse of some USD 3.8bn (EUR 3.3bn) which was part of a funding arrangement with Venezuela.
