The video shows several dozen hostages in an unidentified building, among them women, as well as children of different ages. For militants who have entrenched themselves on the volcanic plateau of Safa in the province of Suweida, such a step is a sign of desperation. At the moment they remain surrounded. All their attempts to break through are futile. At the same time, government troops methodically liberate the provinces.
Recall that earlier units of the Syrian Arab Army, covered by aircraft of the Russian Air Force, conducted a series of reconnaissance missions in the vicinity of As-Safa to the northeast of Suweida, where the remnants of the ISIS group are still surrounded by SAR troops.
