Syria: Refugees continue to leave Idlib through Abu al-Duhur humanitarian corridor

Hundreds of refugees continued to leave Idlib, the last major militant stronghold in Syria, through through the Abu al-Duhur humanitarian corridor on Tuesday.

The refugees were given humanitarian aid and medical treatment, organised by the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides.

“We were living in tent-camps. The situation there was very harsh and we just could not help it. Glory be to Allah, the situation has changed and now we can return to our homes,” said Ayasim Abdul Majid al-Kurdi, a refuge from the city of Hama.

Russia is negotiating with Syria’s moderate opposition to reach a peaceful settlement over Idlib, which is one of the last de-escalation zones.
