Iran has started negotiations with Azerbaijan and Armenia regarding the opportunity of electricity exports to Russia via territories of these countries, Energy Minister of Iran Reza Ardakanian told IRNA News Agency on Monday.
“Separate negotiations with Armenia and Azerbaijan on export of electricity to Russia have been commenced,” the minister said cited by IRNA. An important task for Iran at present is to have a connection to European power grids and Iran has several options to implement this task, Ardakanian said.
One of such options is to be connected to European power grids through territories of our northern neighbors, the minister added.
