Hungarian Orientalist Bianca Spidel stressed that the situation of Syrian internally displaced persons is much better than those of refugees who are abroad, particularly in Lebanon, Turkey, the Balkans and some European countries.
Spidel noted that the migration of Syrians after the elimination of terrorism and the restoration of security and stability in the country is not justified.
In an interview with the SANA agency in Damascus, Spidel said that despite the war and terrorism for seven years, Syria is still a strong sovereign state that was able to maintain its territorial integrity and restore security and stability. She noted the heroism and achievements of the Syrian Arab Army in restoring security on the vast majority of Syrian territory, the resilience of the Syrians and their desire to overcome adversity and restore their homeland.
The orientalist pointed to the threat to the security of European countries, coming from terrorists who arrived there as refugees, stressing the need to support Syria in its fight against terrorism.
As for Western and European public opinion, Spidel stressed that there are few who are worried about reality by Western journalists because of pressure from some governments. Therefore, they tried to blame the Syrian government without shedding light on the existence of support for terrorism, which killed innocent people and destroyed the country’s infrastructure.
