Hundreds of displaced Syrians forced to flee their homes because of war, returned from Lebanon on Monday.
Footage from the al-Zamrani crossing in the al-Qalamoun region of the Damascus province countryside showed convoys of cars and trucks loaded with people and possessions hoping to return home.
Families registered with the Syrian Arab Army, who recorded personal details and where they used to live before fleeing for Lebanon.
One said, “We came from Arsal. Thank God, we came and the Syrian government welcomed us warmly. Thank God for we are back to our homeland and nothing can be better than this. Things are all right.”
