Orphaned players: How British media struck a blow against their own national soccer team

You have to give them credit – they’re still winners. Just like the Russian national team, the British have gone through the tournament grid of the World Cup far beyond than was expected of them. Of course the English forecasts were, of course, better but the team wasn’t taken seriously: Almost the youngest team in the WC, just along with Nigeria

But for the british, who easily passed the group tournament first coped with a very strong Colombia and then Swedes finally getting to semi-finals and it has already been talked about as one of the obvious favorites and contenders for the highest places right here and now.

Why not?

Having players such as the best scorer Harry Kane or Jamie Vardi, Dele Alli or the future hope of Manchester United Marcus Rhesford – why not risk it?

… But England suddenly broke down.

Already in the semifinals, in the game with the Croats, it was some kind of completely different team.

Scoring an early goal from the standard, usually impudent, angry and playing England suddenly sat down on the defensive, boring off and defending a fairly weak

At that moment, very, very many once again regretted that our team lost to the Croats in the quarterfinals in the lottery from the penalty spot:  and here is the England team, clutching to its gates, cowardly and not running, we would have quite illusoriously passed. Which, by the way, the Croats did: despite the understandable joy – in general, it is rather trivial.

And rightly so.

Well, in the match for third place, the British have already lost to the Belgians beaten by the French so far, that it was even painful to look at. Belgium just “did the game.” And the British, despite the fact that they obviously tried, did not even have any special approaches.

And when Azar at the end casually ran off to a private meeting with the English goalkeeper  everything became clear already.

England, as football people say, was simply blown away.

And, in general, you can pretty easily understand why.

Once again we recall the main characteristics of this truly brilliant team: wicked, very fast and uncompromising. Playing in a sincere and highly emotional, beautiful combination football.

And, that, probably, the most important thing, we shall repeat, – young.

One of the youngest in the tournament.

And if you ask any person who understands in football more or less professionally that such a team needs first of all, he will answer without hesitation: this team needs emotional support first of all.

And this team was betrayed.

And none other than the British political and media ruling class did it. With it, in fact, did the same thing that the Russian media tried to do with the Russian national team at the very beginning of the championship

Pay attention: a very nice president of Croatia, who beat the English in the semi-finals, first jumped with her fans on the podium.

For the “political and media” British elites to refuse to support their own team was simply too huge of a blow to their morale.

And when one of the unexpectedly best modern British coaches, Gareth Southgate, also had the audacity at the press conference to positively respond positively to Russia and the organization of the World Cup – you yourself understand how the British media responded.

And if you think that this could not affect the young English team emotionally, then, most likely, you simply do not understand football.

The national team plays for their country. And the leadership of this country simply calmly and efficiently, solving our own (very difficult, here we agree) problems, this team was simply neglected and even sacrificed somewhere. Leaving her in the position of abandoned schoolchildren at the summer camp.

The final score is on the scoreboard.
