Two ISIS militants – natives of Bosnia and Herzegovina were killed in Syria in March. Their names were Nasser Arnaut and Ines Mijic, told one of the relatives of the dead to the Sarajevo’s portal “Klix”.
Mijic became known to the Balkan public after the publication of ISIS video, in which he urged Bosnian Muslims to kill “infidels”. Arnaut was wanted by Interpol since 2016.
According to data for 2017, about 280 terrorists from Bosnia and Herzegovina went to the Middle East, many of whom took their families with them. At the end of 2015, the BiH Ministry of Security spoke of 52 women and 700 children who are in Syria and Iraq.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija are the territories in Europe with the largest percentage of ISIS militants in relation to the population.
