US President Donald Trump said he hoped to visit the new American embassy in Jerusalem during a meeting with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington DC on Monday.
Netanyahu remarked that it was the first time that he visited America after the decision and praised Trump for it. He also underlined the common challenges in the Middle East, singling out Iran as the first one.
Asked about visiting the new American embassy, Trump sounded optimistic at the prospect: “We are looking at it. We’ll have it built very quickly, a lot of people wouldn’t be doing it quickly like that, we’re gonna have it built very quickly and very inexpensively.” He also added that “Israel is very special to me, special country, special people.”
