Ukraine will be receiving new anti-tank missiles and other military equipment after the United States officially approved a $47 million sale. Ukrainian President Poroshenko has announced, as reported by Reuters, that they are waiting for the first shipment of weapons in the coming weeks. The United States also announced that it planned to supplying more lethal weapons in order to combat “Russian aggression”.
There was a moment of hope, since the US presidential election, that the United States would seek to engage less with Ukraine, specifically with arming their military.
It is to not be forgotten, that the Obama Administration funded the Ukrainian government after the Maidan revolutionary coup. UK’s Nigel Farage also spoke about NATO troops in Ukraine before the conflict began, as well.
But, during the last years of the Obama Administration, it seemed that they tried limiting sending lethal weapons, once they realized that their funding added to the death toll.
However, the decision of the trump administration of supplying the Ukrainian government with 210 Javelin missiles and 39 control launch units (CLU) is an active step further in cooperation with Ukraine and the slaughter of the Donbass people.
The Ukrainian Civil War death toll is now said to be over 10,000. As Janus Putkonen, a Finish journalist, put it, Moscow does not want an escalated war war in Donbass, but with this recently pledge of supplies to Ukraine, it can only be assumed that the war will flare up again.
Since the start of the Ukrainian Civil War, the United States has not tried to hide its support of the Ukrainian government’s ongoing campaign aimed at destroying Novorossiya. But the United States has hid exactly what the country they’re supporting, is doing.
“Russian aggression”
This is the official reasoning behind the United States’ support of Ukraine’s military campaign in Donbass. The EU and NATO use it as an excuse as well. The whole world uses this term to describe the reasoning of Ukraine using the military against its own people. In the United States’ mainstream media, the term “Russian aggression” is thrown around as a given fact, unchecked, and unsourced.
The Hill, a reputable American news site said this regarding the recent sale of lethal American weapons to Ukraine: “The move marks a significant escalation of lethal aid to Ukraine in its ongoing struggles against Russia.”
Mainstream media in the United States constantly refers to the conflict in Donbass to be between Ukraine and Russia, and the “pro-Russian” separatists only a tool of the eastern “aggressor”.
What does the United States government say? The same thing.
Recently the official spokesperson for the US State Department tweeted and official letter of US supporting Ukraine:
Four years ago, Ukrainians came together to demand their government recognize the choice of its citizens to join Europe. The U.S. will continue to stand by #Ukraine as it faces ongoing Russian aggression & as it works to build a stable, democratic, prosperous, and free Ukraine. pic.twitter.com/D3uivZlPH3

The terms “Russian backed rebels” and “Russian-backed separatists” is thrown around without any given mention to who these “rebels” are, and why they would ever fight against their own government, especially while being “backed” by the evil “aggressor”.
The US does not tell the story about the closing of all Russian speaking schools in Ukraine and the forceful “transition” into making all schools use Ukrainian, in order to rid the country of Russian speakers.
It does not discuss how the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists-Ukrainian Insurgent Army blocked the peaceful protest of Orthodox Christian who were praying for peace. The same Insurgent Army that tried to scare of the faithful by placing “fake bombs” along their path.
In the US there is no mention of Russian owned businesses getting destroyed during the night in the capital of Kiev. They do not inform us of the banning of the St. George’s ribbon, that commemorates the defeat of the nazis.
The United States ignores the hate from the nationalist government and the neo-nazi militias, toward Ukrainian citizens whose mother tongue is Russian. They also ignore the large rise of vandalized synagogues, cemeteries, and the Ukrainian members of parliament who without shame discriminate against the Ukrainian Jewish population.
There is an untold story about the citizens who have been arrested or have been killed for opposing the Euromaidan coup and the resurgence of neo-nazism in Ukraine.
The United States is silent on the matter that now the Donetsk and Lugansk republics want freedom from the Ukrainian government and are fighting for their own country: Novorossiya.
The United States, EU, and NATO will continue to blame “Russian aggression”, and it will ignore the fight for freedom of the separatists. The US will continue to ignore the separatists who are the ones actually fighting for “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”.
This is US and Ukraine: The Untold Story.
