Polish law on the Holocaust may change somewhat after consideration by the Constitutional Court, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Friday.
On Thursday, Polish President Andrzej Duda sent the law on the Holocaust and the ban on propaganda for Bandera ideology to the Constitutional Court.
The law introduces criminal responsibility for the propaganda of Bandera ideology and accusations of the Polish people for involvement in the Holocaust and the Nazis’ complicity. The President of Poland signed the law, on Wednesday it was officially published in the Bulletin of Legislative Acts and will come into force 14 days after publication.
“If there is such a need and the Constitutional Court so decides, then it may happen, a certain clarification of some points, so that people who may have some fears, how the law will be interpreted, were not afraid that there would be a threat to freedom of speech or freedom of creative activity,” – said Moravetsky on the air of the Polish radio.
