Syrian Army seizes control over more strategic regions in Eastern Damascus

The Syrian Army troops stormed the positions of two main terrorist groups in Eastern Ghouta and beat them back from more positions to expand the security zone around government-controlled regions, a field source reported on Saturday.

The army men struck the strongholds of Ahrar al-Sham and Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) Northwest of the town of Arbin in Eastern Ghouta and imposed control over al-Nofous building, Abdul Rahman Bin Aowf grand mosque and a Lebanese-Jordanian Company building.

Also, the army’s artillery and aircraft pounded terrorists’ positions in Arbin, killing or wounding a large number of militants.

Well-informed sources reported on Friday that the army men exchanged heavy fire with ISIL in al-Mo’ayzaliyah region near Homs border with Deir Ezzur province, killing a number of militants and destroying their equipment.

Also, the Syrian Air Force pounded ISIL’s positions in Eastern Badiyeh (desert) and near Mount al-Mohassa in Southeastern Homs, destroying their positons and killing a number of them.

In the meantime, the army’s missile and artillery units shelled heavily terrorists’ strongholds near the towns of al-Qantou and al-Sa’an region and the village of Tir Ma’ala after militants violated ceasefire and targeted the army positions in Northern Homs.
