Afghanistan: 11 injured as blast rocks Save the Children in Jalalabad

Attackers laid siege on Save the Children international aid group in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad on Wednesday morning, after a car bomb went off near the building.

Clashes were still ongoing between armed forces and the assailants and could be heard in the background as smoke rose over the site of the blast.

At least eleven people have been wounded in the second major militant attack in Afghanistan within the last few days. A 12-hour siege resulted in at least 22 people killed at the Inter-Continental Hotel in Kabul over the weekend.
