The infamous international rogue and author of the so-called “Magnitsky Act” William (Bill) Browder, realizing that his whole adventure with the tragic death of Sergei Magnitsky, who had never been a lawyer and never investigated any crimes, is on the verge of full disclosure , continues to actively conduct an international PR campaign for allegedly combating the “bloody regime”, but in fact, saving his own person from international search and throwing him in jail. And he is actively assisted, not free of charge, by a number of Russian journalists, such as Yulia Latynina and other members of the club of “amateur Browder”. But I will tell about them and their connections and contacts with Bill Browder in a separate publication in the very near future, but for now I propose to look at how the employees of the US Department of State and some particularly close journalists from leading Western publications work for the international scammer.
So, hacked in the middle of July and leaked correspondence of the US Department of State employee Robert Otto became, as you might expect, a time bomb. The first news about the hacking of the mailbox of a high-ranking official, published by many media outlets, did not cause any special excitement, but it was clear that a careful study of such a huge archive – more than 12,000 mails – could bring many interesting discoveries. And there are such surprises already. It turned out that many State Department employees living at the expense of American taxpayers and journalists of allegedly unbiased media willingly serve William Browder, a financier sentenced in absentia in Russia to 9 years in prison for organizing large-scale financial frauds.
First of all, Robert Otto himself deserves attention. His position as the Head of the Russian Domestic Policy Division in the Division for Russia and Eurasia of the Bureau of Intelligence and Research of the US State Department assumes the deepest involvement in all processes and discussions related to anti-Russian sanctions, including the permanent expansion of the Magnitsky list. This list has been, for 8 years now, the main tool to protect Bill Browder from accusations of major fraud.
These accusations are becoming more and more argumentative every day, which forces even the most consistent liberals, both in Russia and in the West, to reconsider their positions. The most striking example is the “enlightenment” of the once criticism of Putin’s power, directed by Andrei Nekrasov, in democratic circles. Browder’s lobbyists did everything possible to ensure that his film “Magnitsky Act- behind the scenes” was not shown in the European Parliament, as the version of events presented by Nekrasov is radically different from the legend promoted by Browder. A powerful campaign aimed at banning this show is also reflected in Robert Otto’s correspondence.
The most interesting and first eye-catching feature of this epistolary saga is that the employees of the State Department and many journalists work with Browder as if in the same team: they “drain” the owner of the Hermitage fund any information that could somehow strengthen his position in the courts ; carefully monitor any actions and actions that could compromise his opponents; finally, they just spy on lawyers, politicians, businessmen who somehow act on a side different from Browder’s.
It is noticeable very well on the example of the organized surveillance of the lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and all the people who are in professional contact with her. Veselnitskaya, recall, represents the interests of Denis Katsyv, the beneficiary of one of the companies that Americans, from Browder’s request, are considered to be involved in the laundering of funds received in Russia illegally.
The key party in Otto’s correspondence concerning Veselnitskaya and her acquaintances is Kyle Parker, an employee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Parker carefully informs Otto of everything, even the smallest details, events, media publications that support the “Browder Line”, and keeps his colleague from the State Department informed of his contacts with journalists on the “Magnitsky Act”, forwarding copies to Robert. It seems that Parker’s working day is 90% busy with this monitoring and these negotiations, that is, work for Browder.
For example, Parker hurries to share with Otto negative information about the Russian lawyers’ recent visit to New York for court hearings, which cost the US treasury 50 thousand dollars.
The reason for this letter was an alarming correspondence with the “boss” – Bill Browder.
It turns out that lawyer Tomasz Klosovitz, who works for Browder, received a request with the following content.
Within the Browder team, this query caused an obvious commotion. Klosovitz instantly sends it to his client, at the same time justifying himself, he says, he has nothing to do with it:
The panic in this correspondence looks funny. The fact is that Browder himself, since 2009 regularly comes to Davos, to the World Economic Forum, comes to a press conference of all Russian ministers and asks from the hall the same question about the “Magnitsky case”. Such a thin trolling from an international scammer. And so, having received a request from HRAGI, Browder apparently did not joke that he would be answered in the same way.
In yet another thread of correspondence, Browder already personally warns Kyle Parker about a possible “danger” in the face of journalists Glenn Simpson and Peter Fitch.
This part of the correspondence is also dated April 2016. A year later, Glenn Simpson, as co-owner of the “agency of political intelligence” Fusion GPS, perhaps the most scandalous in recent decades. It was this agency that compiled and disseminated the well-known Trump Dossier, whose mission was to convince the Americans of the close ties of the new president with the Russians.
The dossier abounded with lies and fraud, which confused even the most ardent opponents of Trump and became the subject of legal proceedings. Who knows if the omnipresent Bill Browder and his informants from the power structures have not applied this to the hand? ..
The next object of concern on the part of Parker is information about the forthcoming television report of the NBC channel on the “Magnitsky case”.
This letter, like others, Browder sends to the State Dept, directly to Robert Otto. That is, in fact, one businessman with an extremely dubious reputation and a group of journalists form the agenda of the US foreign policy department …
The apotheosis of this amazing partnership is the letter that fell into the mailbox of Kyle Parker (and then Robert Otto) on June 6, 2016. This letter was sent by Bill Browder, receiving it, in turn, from an employee of the managing company Hermitage Capital in London, Ivan Cherkasov.
The mail contains a photo of the house where Natalia Veselnitskaya lives.
That is, the behind-the-scenes games with State Dept and pressure on the media are not limited to. Bill Browder, with the knowledge and tacit consent of the US authorities, put a Russian lawyer for surveillance, external surveillance.
P.S. That is how the fake information about the nonexistent history of Sergei Magnitsky, and about the alleged connection between US President Trump and the Russian side is created. Easily and at ease – surveillance, deception, compilation of information, distortion and rewriting of facts.
