Politico told about Trump’s discontent with anti-Russian sanctions

American leader Donald Trump in his talks with senators expressed dissatisfaction with the bills concerning Russia, reports Politico with reference to several sources.

According to the newspaper, last month, speaking with Republican Senator from Tennessee Bob Corker, Trump called the bill on sanctions against Moscow unconstitutional and stated that he could damage his service as president. “He was clearly upset,” one source told the newspaper.

The senator’s representative confirmed that there really was such a conversation. According to her, the politicians had a “productive conversation”.

In addition, in early August, Trump spoke on the phone with a Republican senator from North Carolina, Tom Tillis. The legislator is one of the authors of the initiative to prohibit the president from dismissing the special prosecutor in the case of the so-called “Russian interference”. According to the source Politico, Trump was dissatisfied with the bill and did not want to be accepted.

In late July, the US Congress passed a bill on new sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea. August 2, it was signed by Donald Trump.
The document outlines a number of restrictive measures in relation to the Russian economy, as well as against European companies taking part in Russian oil and gas projects, in particular, in the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.
