Counterterrorists win: Syrian Army repels ISIS attack in Homs, 80 terrorists killed

The Syrian army has repelled a powerful attack by militants of the Daesh terrorist group (banned in Russia) in the east of Homs province, the Syrian national agency SANA reported Thursday.

The report said that during the clashes, 80 terrorists were eliminated. The remaining militants fled, leaving the wounded and personal weapons.

The Syrian forces are continuing the operation to retake the town of As Sukhnah in the Homs province, where the Daesh largest stronghold is located. The army in cooperation with its allies have surrounded the town and started to mop up the outskirts.
