EU, Turkey to hold talks on Ankara’s EU membership bid

EU and Turkish officials are set to hold high-level negotiations in the Belgian capital of Brussels on Ankara’s bid to join the European Union on Tuesday.

During the talks, Turkey will be represented by Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and EU Minister Omer Celik, while the European Union will be represented by foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini and European Commissioner in charge of European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.

The parties will discuss the course of the Turkish accession talks as well as economy, trade, counterterrorism, migration and visa liberalization issues.
