Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops stormed a series of hilltops in the Falita Barrens region, near the Syrian-Lebanese border, Friday.
Government troops were seen engaging in fire fights with opposition militants and moving supplies and armoured vehicles into position. Hezbollah fighters took part in a simultaneous operation on the Lebanese side of the border, according to local media reports.
Between them they reportedly recaptured 10 hilltops in the area of the Qalamoun Mountains including Tal Al-Kurah Al-Awal, Tal Dalel Al-Hajj, and Harf Al-Sa’bah during fierce clashes with militants of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
