Daesh militants suffer major setbacks in Syria’s Deir Ez-Zor

Syrian warplanes targeted the positions of Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorists in Deir ez-Zor, inflicting major losses on them.

The gathering centers of the Takfiri terrorists in areas near Deir ez-Zor Airport, Damen Battalion, al-Junieneh, and al-Kamanat crossing were heavily pounded by Syrian jets on Tuesday, SANA news agency reported.

Also, the Syrian Air Force hit the terrorists’ positions in the areas of al-Hamidiyeh and al-Sinaa in the eastern province.

A large group of the militants were killed and injured during the raids.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of it.

According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
