Staffan de Mistura: Syria talks to begin on July 10 in Geneva

On Saturday, UN Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, said that the seventh round of the Geneva talks on the Syrian conflict would begin on July 10.

According to de Mistura, all the participants of the talks would arrive to Geneva on July 9. He also reported that the next rounds were planned to be held in August and September.

De Mistura’s office added that the expert meetings of the consultative process on constitutional and legal issues, established at the sixth round of the Geneva talks, would continue.

Unfortunately, it should be mentioned that all the previous meetings didn’t lead to any positive results. Contrary to expectations, a great number of issues hadn’t been discussed.
