North Korea ready for chocolate cake at White House

Oslo, Norway. As American ships continue to circle the Korea penininsular region and set up the THAAD missile system in South Korea, a new message has emerged from back channel talks in Norway; Kim Jong-Un is ready to sample the chocolate cake in a meeting with Donald Trump personally.

North Korean officials have said they will hold talks with the US “if the conditions were right”, South Korean media reports, based upon Norwegian sources at the talks.

Senior North Korean diplomats said dialogue with the Trump administration was possible following a meeting with ex-US government officials in Norway, in back channel communications that have shown the North Korean leader is interested in a summit meeting with Trump on issues of interest to both nations.

Earlier this month US President Donald Trump said he would be “honoured” to meet Kim Jong-un. Which in turn led to the Norwegian talks to review issues and seek common ground in light of the huge escalation the last month saw.

Choe Son-hui, an official in the North Korean foreign ministry responsible for North American affairs, told reporters in Beijing that bilateral talks between Pyongyang and Washington would be considered.

International intelligence experts say, North Korea would probably have to agree to at least discuss relinquishing a percentage of-or limiting its nuclear weapons for the US to participate.

The North Korean delegation head Ms Choe, who has been involved in nuclear negotiations in the past, made the comments during a stop-over on her return to Pyongyang following a meeting in Oslo.
